It is the only Welsh university in the Russell Group. The university is made up of two large campuses, both close to the centre of Cardiff. Heath Park, a mile to its north, is on the fringe of 100 acres of parkland and playing fields. With the exception of Pharmacy and Optometry, it houses the university’s healthcare schools, sharing the site with the University Hospital of Wales. Study areas and IT facilities are open around the clock and, as well as libraries and lecture theatres, there is a swimming pool, fitness suite and squash court.

Professors at Cardiff have won many prestigious awards including two Nobel Prizes, one in Chemistry and the other in Medicine. Many have been selected to join the likes of the British Academy and Royal Academy of Engineering, while the university itself has been awarded six Queen’s Anniversary Prizes.

It has an alumni network of 145,000, drawn from over 180 countries. Notable graduates include BBC newsreader Huw Edwards, the Olympic gold medallist Nicole Cooke, and a previous national poet of Wales, Gillian Clarke.

Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) is a public university located in Canterbury, Kent, England. Founded as a Church of England college for teacher training in 1962, it was granted university status in 2005.

The university has developed rapidly since its inception in 1962 and now has around 15,000 students based at locations across Kent in Canterbury, Medway (as part of the Universities at Medway partnership) and Tunbridge Wells. As well as being Kent’s largest centre of higher education for the public services – notably teacher training, health and social care and the emergency services – the university also offers academic and professional programmes, including doctorates and research degrees in the arts, humanities and social and applied sciences. The university is also developing its portfolio of STEM courses, including engineering and medicine. The university is working with industry and businesses in the south-east to develop its STEM courses and is working in partnership with the University of Kent on the development of the medical school.

Brunel University London is a public research university located in the Uxbridge area of London, England. It was founded in 1966 and named after the Victorian engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. In June 1966, Brunel College of Advanced Technology was awarded a royal charter and became Brunel University.

The British and Irish Modern Music Institute is a group of eight independent colleges with over 7,000 students that specialise in the provision of creative education in Brighton, Bristol, Dublin, Birmingham, Manchester, Berlin, Hamburg and London.
